West Point had just two hits in the sixth inning, but four runs was enough cushion to a first round victory in front of their home crowd Thursday night, topping Saltillo 15-12 in the 12U girls Dizzy Dean State Tournament at the Jesse W. Harmon Sports Complex.
"They're a scrappy bunch," head coach Keith Holton said. "If we're going to win, we're going to battle to the end. We don't have that shutdown pitcher that can hold them to one or two runs. Saltillo gave us everything we could handle."
