When anyone talks about football dynasties in Mississippi, three teams usually come up in conversation. South Panola (8), Louisville (7) and West Point (6) combined boast 21 state championships since 1981.
Last December, the 5A state championship between the Green Wave and Wayne County featured nine titles between the two teams. Wayne County won its third ring in 2006.

Get em’ while they’re hot.
Tickets for the West Point Green Wave and Brookhaven Panthers 5A state championship game are now on sale right here in West Point. Tickets are on sale for $12, which is $1 cheaper than purchasing the tickets at the gate.
Purchasing the tickets from West Point High, at the discounted rate, will help the school, as revenue from the sales goes back to West Point High.

Carlton Clay came to play for the Hebron Christian School Eagles Monday night against the
Starkville Christian School Eagles.
Clay followed a nine-point first quarter with a 13-point third and finished with a game-high 26
points as the Eagles from Clay County dominated the Cougars 59-32 at the Starkville Christian gymnasium.
“Carlton is pretty tough,” Hebron coach Greg Watkins said. “We can move him inside or out. He can hit the three and he’s a hard matchup inside.”
