All three area teams still in playoff hunt

There are many teams across this state that have already received the bad news. They have lost key district games, and they will not be playing football beyond the final week of the regular season.
While times might seem tough for some of our area schools, Clay County is fortunate enough to be able to say that all three teams, the Hebron Christian Eagles (1-6; 0-1), the Oak Hill Academy Raiders (2-6; 1-1) and the West Point Green Wave (6-1; 3-0) have not sealed their fate as far as the post-season is concerned.

Soccer start a success, more sports to come this fall

Thanks to clear skies and a lot of hard work, the fall season for youth sports got off to a great start on Monday night, as over a hundred local youths converged on the Parks and Recreation sportsplex to begin the youth soccer season.
As far as fan support goes, Parks Assistant Director Jarrod McDaniel says it was the best turnout he has seen since he’s been with the department.
“There were a lot of people,” McDaniel said. “As far as crowd participation goes, it was the best I’ve seen.”
