Myrtle Ruth Foreman, age 78 of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, at the Windsor Place, in Columbus.
Visitation is Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Lowndes Funeral Home, in Columbus.
Funeral services are Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Ray officiating. Interment is in Friendship Cemetery, in Columbus, with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Gloss Daniel, age 89, passed away Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at U.F.C.W. Local #1991 Union Hall with Rev. Steve Daniels Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Pool’s Memorial Garden.
Visitation is 2 – 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at Carter’s Mortuary Services Chapel.

Vera Bell Mitchell McCall, age 76, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, in Memphis, Tenn.
Funeral services are 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at Strong Hill M.B. Church, with Dr. Israel Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Strong Hill Stockholders’ Cemetery.
Visitation is 4 – 6 p.m. today, Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at St. Paul M.B. Church in Amory.
Carter’s Mortuary Services are in charge of arrangements.

Mary Louise Smith, daughter of the late John Ed and Mary Lou Williams of 422 Clay Street in West Point, passed away Oct. 7t, 2014. She was the mother of the late Tracy H. Smith III. Her surviving daughters are: Cheryl A. Smith (Austin), Ruby A. Smith (Brown) and Johnnie G. Smith. Mary passed away at home in Jonesboro, Ga. surrounded by family. She will be eulogized and laid to rest Saturday, October 18, 2014. The services will be held at 1 p.m. from, Willie A. Watkins Funeral Home, 6580 Church Street, Riverdale, Ga. 30274,.

Bobby Lee York

October 14, 2014

Bobby Lee York, age 67, passed away Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospita l- Golden Triangle in Columbus.
Mr. Bobby was born July 7, 1947, in Starkville, the son of the late Robert Lee and Geneva Beatrice Ballard York. He retired from Dirt Construction. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and work in his garden. He loved life. He married Marjorie Guest York April 11, 1998, in Starkville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Sue Smith and by brothers: William Randle and George Bruce York.

Maxine McCarter Eacholes, 57, of West Point died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Boyd Chapel in Sturgis.

Richard Glen McBrayer, 78, of West Point passed away Friday October 3, 2014 at NMMC-West Point. He was born April 25, 1936 in Kemper County to the late Escar Eugene and Nannie Eaves McBrayer. He worked for Southern Natural Gas for 37 years. He was a member and a Deacon of Calvary Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for 42 years. He was a Mason, Past Master of Lodge 159, Shriner at Hamasa Temple and owner of McBrayer Quick Lube and Captian D’s in West Point.

James Bannerman “J.B.” Richter-Addo, passed away Monday, Sept. 1, 2014 in Accra, Ghana, West Africa. He was 89 years old.
James Bannerman “J.B.” Richter - Addo was born August 4, 1925, Accra, Ghana, West Africa. He is the father of Anna Jones of West Point.
According to customs and traditions he will be buried Oct. 17, 2014, in Accra, Ghana, West Africa. He leaves to mourn him, a wife; nine children, 15 grandchildren and four great - grandchildren. Anna and Bennie Jones will be attending the funeral.
