Peggy McGibbony Goode, age 81, of West Point, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, January 12, 2015, at 10 A.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel in West Point with burial to follow in Enon Cemetery near Cedar Bluff.
Visitation is today, Sunday, January 11, 2015, from 5:00 until 8 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home.
Complete arrangements will be announced at a later date by Calvert Funeral Home.

Laura Sue Harmon Rambo entered into life eternal January 5, 2015 after an extended illness.Â A memorial service will be held for her Friday January 9, 2015 at 10 AM at Robinson Chapel with Rev. Mike Hunter and Rev. Will Rambo officiating.Â Visitation will be Thursday January 8 from 5-7 PM and from 9-9:45 AM on January 9 at Robinson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mary Ruth Winter Boeke, 85, passed away on January 6, 2015, at Waverly Care Home in West Point. Mrs. Mary Ruth was born September 13, 1929, in Chickasaw County, the daughter of the late Wilton Joshua and Emma Elizabeth Griffin Johnson. She was a member of the West Point Church of God. She had worked as a cashier at Sunflower in West Point. She was married to the late Robert Lee Winter and he passed away in 1971. She later married Bill Moore and they owned and operated Moore's Restaurant in West Point. She was later married to Harvey Boeke and he passed away in 2003.
Laura Sue Harmon Rambo passed away Monday January 5, 2015 at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point. Complete Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Robinson Funeral Home.

Ferdinand Sykes Jr., 76, died on Jan. 1, 2015 at Ruleville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ruleville.
Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. today at Carter Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the J.F. Carter Memorial chapel of Carter Funeral Home followed by burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Wilma Laurene Johnson Wright, 93, passed away on January 3, 2015, at her residence, in the Pine Bluff Community of Clay County. Mrs. Wilma Laurene Johnson Wright was born July 23, 1921, in the Pine Bluff Community of Clay County, the daughter of the late: Charlie Oliver and Mable Eudora Moore Johnson. Mrs. Wilma was a lady who demonstrated strength, substance, wisdom, discernment, and love for her family, church, neighbors and friends. She possessed a strong moral character. Mrs.

Thomas Edward Landon, Sr., was born on July 7, 1947 to the late Harrison and Elizabeth Landon in West Point, MS. He died on December 25, 2014 at the Veteran Affairs Hospital in Memphis, TN. He served in the U.S. Army. He received the Purple Heart Medal during combat in the Vietnam War.
Coach Stan Hughey, age 55, passed away Dec. 28, 2014, at his residence in West Point. Coach Hughey was born Sept. 2, 1959, in Ripley, the son of Willa Dean Hodges Hughey and the late William Crandle Hughey. Stan graduated from Bay Springs High School in 1978. He also graduated with a Bachelorâ€™s Degree from Mississippi State University in 1983. Coach Hughey began his coaching career at Mathiston High School, which later became, what we know today as East Webster High School. Coach Hughey, then became a Graduate Assistant at Mississippi College, studying under Coach Mike Jones.
Fred Dreher, Jr., 87, passed away on December 26, 2014, at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point. Mr. Fred was born February 19, 1927, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, the son of the late Frederic Nicholas and Regina Anna Hageman Dreher, Sr. He was an United States Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Columbus. He worked as a Civilan Chief Budget Officer for the Columbus Air Force Base for 35 years. He married Phyllis Jean Parks May 31, 1947, in El Dorado, Arkansas, and she passed away June 8, 2013.
Billy Joe Dye, age 63, passed away on December 29, 2014, at his residence in West Point. Mr. Billy Joe was born March 3, 1951, in West Point, the son of the late Hiram Hilliard â€śPeteâ€ť and Roe Alma Higginbotham Dye. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University, graduating with a Bachelorâ€™s Degree in Forrestry. He was a Forrester with Seitz Lumber Company in West Point. He also owned and operated Wildland Timber Management. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt, fish, and camp. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in West Point.
