Mary Jane Smith

February 4, 2014

Mary Jane Smith, 82, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
Mrs. Mary Jane was born Jan. 15, 1932, in Mathiston the daughter of the late Joe Fred and Jewel Bennett Doss. She was a homemaker and member of First Christian Church, where she was a member of the Mary Martha Sunday School Class. She was an avid bridge player, accomplished seamstress, and was dedicated to serving with Meals on Wheels. She married Edward Hester on April 23, 1950, in West Point. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Joe Doss.

Bernard M. Meisenhoelder

Bernard M. Meisenhoelder, 86, passed away Saturday. Feb. 1, 2014, at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point.
Mr. Bernard was born May 4, 1927, in Kenosa, Wisconsin, the son of the late Rudolf George and Margaretha Barkemeyer Meisenhoelder. He retired from Goodwill, having worked as a maintenance employee for 18 years. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Columbus. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two others Harold and Carl Meisnehoelder.

Marian E. Bramlett, age 82 of West Point, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at West Point Community Living Center.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later date.
Calvert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

James Rodney Kilgore Jr., age 76, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center of Eupora.
Funeral services are 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Callahan M.B. Church in Woodland, with Rev. Rossie Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation is today, Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Carter’s Mortuary Services Chapel.
Carter’s Mortuary Services is in charge of arrangements.

Patsy Clark Pace

Patsy Clark Pace, age 84 died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at her residence in Aberdeen. Mrs. Pace was a retired educator in both the public and private schools, and she was a graduate of Blue Mountain College and the University of Mississippi. A published author, she was a former president of the Mississippi Poetry Society. Also, she was a founding member of the Chief Tishomingo Chapter of the DAR in Iuka. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Aberdeen.

Bill Rushing

Bill Rushing, 71, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus. He was born Sept. 13, 1942, in Longview to the late Mary Bell Azwall and Will Rushing. He was a construction worker and member of Christ United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Rushing and son-in-law, Dean Logan.

Robert 'Bobby' Fitzgerald

Robert “Bobby” Fitzgerald, 70, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Mr. Bobby was born March 9, 1943, in the Cairo Community of Clay County, the son of the late William Freeman and Annie Catherine Cockrell Fitzgerald. He was a member of the Cairo Presbyterian Church. He was a retired electrician, having worked at Southwire in Starkville. He married Betty Jo Coggins Fitzgerald Nov. 11, 1961.
Funeral services are today, Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at 11 a.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James

Willie Thomas Davenport Sr.

Willie Thomas Davenport Sr., age 76, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle in Columbus.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Hopewell M.B. Church with Rev. Willie T. Davenport Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation is today, Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Hopewell M.B. Church.

Gary Lynn Bigham Sr.

Gary Lynn Bigham Sr., 56, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
Gary Lynn Bigham Sr. was born March 18, 1957, in Maben, the son of Mrs. Peggy Jean Boyette and the late Mr. Emmett Jefferson Bigham. He was a maintenance technician at Bryan Foods in West Point for 32 years. He was also a maintenance technician at Nucor, formerly Gulf States, in Starkville. He married Louise Brooks Bigham June 5, 1976, in Houston. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his brother, Emmett "Sonny" Bigham.
