Carolyn Pryor Wenzel

Carolyn Pryor Wenzel, 83, passed away in Hot Springs, Ark., February 7, 2014.
A private memorial service will be held in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
She is survived by Emmett Buford and her five children: Anita Pryor Mayer of Portland, Ore., Melanie Pryor Olson of Portland, Ore., Roger Alan Pryor of West Point, Jan Pryor Cressman of Halifax, Nova Scotia and Jim Pryor of Columbus.
Mrs. Wenzel had eleven grandchildren and one great - granddaughter. She is survived by one sister, Rebecca McCharen Cohen, and many nephews and nieces.

West Point native Pauline Smith Robinson, 95, died Jan. 27, 2014, at Goodwin House in Alexandria, Va.
A Memorial Service was held Saturday, Jan, 22, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the Goodwin House Chapel with Rev. Dr. Clarence Brown, Jr., officiating.
A reception followed in the parlor.

Mary Alice McClure, 91, passed away Feb. 9, 2014, at Trinity Place Personal Care Home in Columbus.
Mrs. Mary Alice was born Aug. 21, 1922, in Columbus, the daughter of the late William Arthur and Annie Bell Dortherow Jones Sr. She was a retired office clerk for the Clay County Co-Op. She was a Baptist. She was married to Roy Willard McClure, who passed away Jan. 22, 1975. Preceding her in death were two sisters: Dixie Brownlee and Bertha Harkins

Patricia Ann Koonce age 56, passed away Tuesday. Feb. 4, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Funeral services are Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at 1 p.m. from Fifteenth St. C.O.G.I.C. in Columbus. with Elder Roosevelt William officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbus.
Visitation is today, Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Carter’s Mortuary Services Chapel.
Carter’s Mortuary Services is in charge of arrangements.

Minnie Lou Edwards Hall

Minnie Lou Edwards Hall, 72, passed away Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at her residence in Cedar Bluff.
Mrs. Minnie was born April 7, 1941, in West Point, the daughter of the late Tommy Frank and Agnes Edwards. She was a member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. She worked in retail sales at Walmart. She married Ollie “Ronnie” Hall April 30, 1960, in West Point, and he passed away Nov. 6, 2010. She was also predeceased by one sister, Ruth Edwards Reed and by one brother, Ray Edwards.

Visitation is today, Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Carter’s Mortuary Services Chapel.

John W. ‘Bill’ Vest

John W. “Bill” Vest, 93, passed away, Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at the State Veterans Home in Kosciusko.
John W. “Bill” Vest was born in Stevenson, Ala., to the late Ella Mae Hart and James Horton Vest Sr. He was a farmer and former service station owner and was a member of the Baptist faith. Bill was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during WW II. He was awarded the Silver Star and was a Purple Heart recipient. John William Vest married Mildred Lucille Vaughn Vest on March 13, 1948. She preceded him in death Nov. 25, 1998.

Marian E. Bramlett, 82, passed away, Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at West Point Community Living Center.
Marian E. Bramlett was born Sept. 11, 1932, in Stewart, to the late Tessie Murphy and Frank Velcek. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She married Prentiss Eugene Bramlett, Sr. Dec. 24, 1955, West Point, he preceded her in death Dec. 29, 2013.
Funeral services are Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, 10 a.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. James Towery officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
