Vaughn Clay Dedeaux

November 13, 2014

Vaughn Clay Dedeaux, age 59 of West Point, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014 at his residence.
Visitation is Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, from 10 – 11 a.m. at Lowndes Funeral Home of Columbus.
A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Chapel with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Charlie Acker

Charlie Acker, age 79, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
Mr. Charlie was born March 15, 1935, in Eupora, the son of the late Gardner and Hazel Burton Acker. He was a retired “A” fitter at Babcock and Wilcox Corporation, retiring after 40 years. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in West Point. He was an United States Army veteran. He married Helen White July 1, 1961, in West Point. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Bertha Steverson and by one brother, William Acker.

Mary B. Coggins, age 82, passed away Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center – West Point.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, at Carter’s Mortuary Services Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Shamblin – Traylor officiating. Burial will follow in Pool’s Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of visitation friends may sign the registry book at Carter’s Mortuary Services.
Carter’s Mortuary Services is in charge of arrangements.

Charlie Acker, age 79, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at NMMC-West Point.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, at the Calvert Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens in West Point.
Visitation is from 1 – 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, at Calvert Funeral Home.
Full arrangements are not available at this time and will be announced at a later date by Calvert Funeral Home.

Carol Wilson age 69, passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at her residence in Cedar Bluff. Mrs. Carol was born March 20, 1945, in Clay County the daughter of the late Louis Marion and Mattie Catherine Allen Huffman. She was a retired truck driver, having driven for Royal Trucking in West Point. She was a Baptist. She married William Todd Wilson Nov. 21, 1970, in Clay County and he passed away Feb. 2, 1998. In addition to her parents, husband, and step-mother Gale, she was preceded in death by grandson, Charlie Putnam; and two brothers: Roger and Ronnie Huffman.

James Edward Springer Jr.

James Edward Springer Jr. (known to many as "Doodle") passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at his home in Starkville.
He was born in Birmingham, Ala. Jan. 28, 1952.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Springer Sr.
Jimmy leaves his mother, Melba Barnes Springer of Starkville; aunts: Emma Kate Barnes Manning of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; uncle, Floyd Barnes of West Point; aunt and uncle: Joe and Rubye Barnes Wray of West Point; and a number of cousins.
