Hattie T. Reed age 98, passed away, Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. from St. Paul Methodist Church with Rev. Maggie Little officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3 – 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Carter’s Mortuary Services Chapel.
Carter’s Mortuary Services is in charge of arrangements.

Arlon R. Hopkins

Arlon R. Hopkins passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at NMMC-West Point.
Visitation is 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Robinson Funeral Home.

Richard Anthony Franklin of Greenville, age 77, passed away, Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014.
Funeral services were 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Mortimer Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial followed at Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.
Richard Anthony Franklin was born Jan. 8, 2014, in Amory, to the late John L. and Louise Franklin. He grew up in Cedar Bluff and graduated from West Point High School in 1956.

Etta Florence Moon

Etta Florence Moon, age 89, left her life on earth to begin her life in heaven Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at her daughter’s home in West Point after bravely battling Alzheimer’s for seven years.

Jon Smith

February 17, 2014

Jon Smith, 42, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
Jonathan Douglas Smith was born in Amarillo, Texas, the son of Cloyce Douglas Smith and the late Cathy Ann Wilson.
Jon was a self-employed truck driver. In addition to his mother, Jon was predeceased by brother, Jimmy Ray Robison and by sister, Teresa Gayle Robison.
Funeral services are Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at 10 a.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Una.

Barbara G. Fagan

Barbara G. Fagan, age 84, also known to friends and family as Jeri Moore, Mimi, and Sis, traveled to her Maker’s home Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014. Barbara was born Oct. 27, 1929, in Greencastle, Ind. She was very spiritual and was active in her religion of Eckankar. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Dortha Miller of Clinton Falls, Ind; first husband, John R. Moore of West Point; and second husband, G. William Fagan of Richmond, Va.

Albert Mattix age 85, passed away Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at St. Paul M.B. Church with Rev. Willie B. Lairy officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, from 4 – 6 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home.

Carolyn Pryor Wenzel

Carolyn Pryor Wenzel, 83, passed away in Hot Springs, Ark., February 7, 2014.
A private memorial service will be held in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
She is survived by Emmett Buford and her five children: Anita Pryor Mayer of Portland, Ore., Melanie Pryor Olson of Portland, Ore., Roger Alan Pryor of West Point, Jan Pryor Cressman of Halifax, Nova Scotia and Jim Pryor of Columbus.
Mrs. Wenzel had eleven grandchildren and one great - granddaughter. She is survived by one sister, Rebecca McCharen Cohen, and many nephews and nieces.

Pauline Smith Robinson

West Point native Pauline Smith Robinson, 95, died Jan. 27, 2014, at Goodwin House in Alexandria, Va.
A Memorial Service was held Saturday, Jan, 22, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the Goodwin House Chapel with Rev. Dr. Clarence Brown, Jr., officiating.
A reception followed in the parlor.

Mary Alice McClure

Mary Alice McClure, 91, passed away Feb. 9, 2014, at Trinity Place Personal Care Home in Columbus.
Mrs. Mary Alice was born Aug. 21, 1922, in Columbus, the daughter of the late William Arthur and Annie Bell Dortherow Jones Sr. She was a retired office clerk for the Clay County Co-Op. She was a Baptist. She was married to Roy Willard McClure, who passed away Jan. 22, 1975. Preceding her in death were two sisters: Dixie Brownlee and Bertha Harkins
