Linda Pearson Cutler, age 65, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, at her home in Commerce, Mich. after an extended illness.
She is survived by her daughter, Piper Cutler of Commerce, Mich.; son, Chase Cutler (Judy) of Las Vegas, N.V.; dear friend and ex-husband Lenny Cutler of Las Vegas, N.V. ; brother, George Pearson (Beulah) of West Point; sisters, Patsy Irwin of Austin, Texas, Clara McInnis (Glenn) of Meridian; grandson, Tyler and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Christine Pearson and twin sister Sandra.
Taylor Dragoo, age 15, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Taylor was born April 19, 1999, in West Point to Sherry Reannay Jenkins and Steven Alfred Dragoo. Taylor was a member of First Christian Church, but also attended the youth groups of First Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Church, and First Methodist Church. Taylor was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt, fish, kayak, and ride four-wheelers. Taylor loved all sports, but especially loved football and running track. Taylor was a â€śSportscenterâ€ť enthusiast.
Charles Edward Cartee, age 75, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Mr. Charles was born Dec. 10, 1938, in Clay County, the son of the late Spurgeon Cartee and Dovie Eaton Cartee Felder. He was a truck driver for United Produce and Bigbee Transportation. He was a Baptist. He married Opal Oline Payne June 6, 1955. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Charlene Comer and by a son, Larry Payne.
Tonya Cade McBeth passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2014, in Memphis at the age of 40. She was born on Nov. 14, 1973, to Sherwin Hollis and William Cade. She was a member of Whitten Baptist Church in Memphis. She was a retired Certified Financial Planner.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Shipley officiating. Burial will follow in Moore Cemetery in Brooksville. Visitation will be Friday, June 6, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home.
Matthew J. Lautar passed away at home June 2, 2014, in Cordova, Tenn. He was born March 1, 1941 in Barberton, OH.
He graduated from West Point MS High School in 1959. He attended Millsapâ€™s College and was a member of the football team and Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He transferred to the University of Mississippi in 1961. After graduating from Ole Miss, he joined Consolidated Packaging in Houston, MS before moving to Little Rock ,AR in 1966 while serving in Air Force National Guard.
Dr. William â€śPeteâ€ť Harold Edwards Jr. DVM, passed away Sunday June 1, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center of West Point at the age of 69.
He was born July 13, 1944, to the late Mary Jean Hardin and William Harold Edwards Sr. He was the owner of West Point Animal Clinic for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of West Point where he served as a deacon. He served on the board for Oak Hill Academy and Clay County Medical Center. He was past president for MS State Veterinarian Assoc.
Matthew J. Lautar passed away Monday, June 2, 2014, at his residence in Cordova, Tenn.

Lounette Buchanan Collins, age 90, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital â€“ Columbus.
Funeral services are noon Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Pleasant Plain M.B. Church in Prairie with Rev. Willie K. Orr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state from 11 a.m. until service time.

Earnie Morton, age 91, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at Mt. Hermon M.B. Church with Rev. Tim Brinkley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation is 3 â€“ 6 p.m. today, Friday, May 23, 2014, at Carterâ€™s Mortuary Services Chapel.

Mattie Pearl Deans Davis, age 90, of West Point, passed away from this earthly life Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at 8:30 a.m. her hour of departure.; she was touched by angels to begin her journey.
Sister Mattie Pearl Deanes Davis was born Jan. 19 1924, in Palo Alto, to the late Mommodore Deans and Margerie Shannon. She was affectionately known as â€śPap,â€ť â€śGertrude,â€ť â€śBig Momma,â€ť â€śMrs. Davis,â€ť â€śAuntieâ€ť and â€śMama.â€ť
