Willie Alex Wilson age 72, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center of Tupelo.
Funeral services are Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at noon from New Hope M.B. Church with the Rev. Carlos Orr officiating.
Burial will follow in Sykes Cemetery.
Visitation is Monday, April 8, 2013, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Carter’s Mortuary Services Chapel.
Carter’s Mortuary Services is in charge of arrangements.
April 4th
Daisie Cousin age 78, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center of West Point.
Funeral services are Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 1 p.m. from Upper Prairie Creek M.B. Church in Woodland with the Rev. Henry Brownlee officiating. The body will lie in state at from noon – 1 p.m. service time. Burial will follow in the Cousin Cemetery.

Mary Louise Calhoun-Edwards age 89, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013, at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville.
Funeral services are Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 11 a.m. from Northside Christian Church with the Rev. Bobby Bowens officiating. Burial will follow in Strong Hill M.B. Church Cemetery.
Visitation is today, Friday, April 5, 2013, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Carter’s Mortuary Services Chapel.

Alice Myles Hunter age 86, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, in Woodland.
Funeral services are Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 3:30 p.m. at New Hope M.B. Church with Ras Pickens officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope M.B. Church Cemetery.
Visitation is today, Friday, April 5, 2013, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Carter’s Mortuary Services Chapel.

April 3rd
Millard Long Sr., age 81, passed away Tuesday April 2, 2013.
He was born September 29, 1931, in Starkville, to the late Kathlyn Caston and Lewis Edward Long. Mr. Long was a member of Siloam United Methodist Church. He retired from B&W with 30 years of service and was shop superintendent. He was a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, The Mississippi Forestry Association and was West Point Citizen of the Year for his assistance in helping bring Navistar Industries to West Point.
April 2nd
Vickie Renna Coleman Black, age 49, died Monday, April 1, 2013.
She was born December 12, 1963, in Chickasaw to David Wayne Coleman and Barbara Anne Dye Sims. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. She was employed at Wal-Mart for 30 years.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Parkway Baptist Church and will lie in state one hour prior to service with Bro. Randy Rinehart officiating. Burial will be at Wesley Chapel. Memorial Funeral Home of Houston, is in charge of arrangements.
Pauline Smith Millsaps age 86, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. She was born June 9, 1926, in Dancy. Pauline Millsaps graduated from Cumberland High School and Wood Junior College. She began working at Knickerbocker, MFG. amd later she was the Payroll and Office Manager for Big Yank, MFG. Mrs. Millsaps was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed being a grandmother to her three grandchildren. Pauline Smith Millsaps married Louis Calvin Millsaps on November 4, 1945, in West Point. He preceded her in death November 5, 2001.
Millard A. Long Sr., passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, in West Point.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Robinson Funeral Home.

Billy Martin Shepherd Sr., age 75, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, April 1, 2013.
Born in Monroe County, he was the son of the late Fletcher Brian Shepherd and Lettie Smith Shepherd. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Lang.
Billy was a longtime member of Englewood Baptist Church and former member of Edgemont Baptist Church. A faithful servant of God, Billy served as Director of Royal Ambassadors of both churches and a group leader for the Awana Club at Englewood. He retired after 35 years with Barcalounger in 2000.
April 1st
Margaret Russell Templeton, age 86, died March 30, 2013, at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital in Kosciusko. Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Welch’s Funeral Home in Starkville, beginning at noon with funeral services at 1pm.
Mrs. Templeton was born on August 1, 1926, in West Point, Miss. She was a graduate of West Point High School. On June 1, 1946, she married Charles Edward (Buddy) Templeton. They made their home in Starkville, where they raised their three boys. Mrs. Templeton worked for Dr. Emmett Black as a dental hygienist and secretary for many years.
