Mablen Harley Chandler, age 88, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Methodist Healthcare in Memphis, Tenn. Funeral services are at noon, Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Kyle Chapel M. B. Church, in Vardaman, with the Rev. Jimmy Lee Washington officiating. Burial will follow in Midway Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday, July 27, 2012, from 4 - 6 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home.

Martha N. Dobbs-Pearson, age 70, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Funeral services are Thursday, July 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Kyle Chapel M.B. Church in Vardaman, with Dr. Willie B. Lairy officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Calhoun City.
Visitation is Thursday, July 12, 2012, one hour prior to service at the church.

Robyn Ballinger was born April 30, 1979, in Ogden, Utah. She was a AT& T Sales Representive.
A celebration of her life and a gathering of family and friends will be from 2 - 4 p.m, today, Sunday, July 15, 2012, at the Old Waverly Magnolia Room. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Evans Weed Sr., age 85, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012, at his home in Ackerman.
Funeral services are, Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. from Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, with the Rev. Danny Irvin officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point.

Robert âBobâ William Rutherford
Robert âBobâ William Rutherford, age 92, passed away July 5, 2012, at West Point Community Living Center.
He was born in Inverness, May 20, 1920. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked as an auto mechanic for many years.
He is survived by a daughter, Bobbie Hadley of Thomaston, Ga.; a sister, Hazel Gilbert of Kansas City, Mo.; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time.

Prentice Brewer
Prentice Brewer, age 89, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012, at his home, in Columbus.
Edgar Prentice Brewer was born April 29, 1923, in West Point to the late Geraldine Marguerite Russell Brewer and Edgar Prentice Brewer Sr. He was the retired superintendent of maintenance at B & W after 27 years service and a member
of Fairview Baptist Church. He was a cattleman and loved his working his old homeplace. Mr. Brewer was a wounded veteran of WW II in the U. S. Army having served 32 months in the 512th M.P. Battilion, part of Patton's 3rd Army.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Funderburg officiating. The body will lie in state from 10 a.m. to service time at the church.
