James Curtis Peoples, age 53, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at his home.
Funeral services are Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at 11 a.m. from Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel, with the Rev. Calvin Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to service at Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel.

Beth Millsaps Brantley, age 67, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Dugan Memorial Home, in West Point.
Helen Hazlewood Clifton
Helen Hazlewood Clifton, age 89, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center, in West Point. She was born May 18, 1923, in Union County, to the late Lula Crumpton and John Fernando Herring. Mrs. Clifton was a Nurses Aide at Ivy Memorial Hospital and a member of the Pentecostal Church. Husbands, Sidney Earl Hazlewood, Nov. 10, 1969, and Thomas K. Clifton, Aug. 13, 1993, preceded her in death.
Azzie Shaw
Azzie Shaw, age 94, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at 11 a.m. from Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Coffeeville. Burial followed in Hopewell Cemetery in Coffeeville.
Carter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Lois Jean Davis, age 79, passed away Saturday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville.
Funeral services are Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at 3 p.m. from Third Mt. Olive M.B. Church, with the Rev. Joe Eggleston officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, from 3-6 p.m. at Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel.

Frances Uithoven Rhea
Frances Uithoven Rhea, age 95, passed away, Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at her daughter's home, in Montgomery, Ala.
She was born November 24, 1916 in Clay County Mississippi to the late Frances Duran Beard and Dr. Jan Uithoven Mrs. Rhea was a homemaker and a member of the West Point Church of God. Frances Uithoven Rhea married Charles Frank Rhea, Sr. Sept. 13, 1935; in West Point, he preceded her in death on March 3, 2008. They both loved the Lord, their family and friends, and each other and are now reunited in Heaven.

Hattie M. Brooks, age 68, passed away Thursday, Sept. 21, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
Funeral services are Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. from St. Matthew C.O.G.I.C., with the Rev. Dwight Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, from 3-6 p.m. at Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel.

James Raymond “Jimmy” Blankenship, age 67, of Columbus, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Healthcare – Golden Triangle.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation was Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, from 6 – 8p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral services were Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Mullins officiating. Interment immediately followed in Davis Cemetery in West Point.
Keyston Amar Avant
Keyston Amar Avant, infant son of Crystal D. Bean and Keon Avant, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville.
Graveside services were Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at 3 p.m. from Johnson Creek Cemetery, with the Rev. Bruce Guyton officiating.

Michael Ross Montgomery
Michael Ross Montgomery, age 40, passed away Thursday, Sept, 20, 2012, in Starkville. He grew up in Long Beach. He was a landscape designer with Mississippi Gardens and attended Broadmoor Baptist Church, Adaton Baptist Church and New Covenant Church. Michael Ross Montgomery was a graduate of Mississippi State University, with two bachelor degrees; one in Landscape Architecture and the other in Landscape Construction and Management.
