Jake Moore, age 65, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011, at his home.
Funeral services are Thursday, June 30, 2011, at 11 a.m. from Pilgrim Grove M.B. Church, with the Rev. Robert Shamblin - Traylor officiating. Burial will follow in Tibbee Community Cemetery.
Visitation is today, from 3 â€“ 6 p.m. from Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel.

Rose Marie Ellis Dean
Rose Marie Ellis Dean, age 61, passed away Monday, June 27, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center of Tupelo, Miss.
Rose Marie Ellis Dean was born April 14, 1950, in Holmes County to the late Elsie Grantham and Earl Ellis. She was a bank teller for over 30 years. She was a member of Siloam Baptist Church serving as choir director. She was also a Weight Watchers leader in the Cairo Community.
Fred E. Hargrove
Fred E. Hargrove, age 60, passed away, Saturday, June 25, 2011, at his home in West Point.
Fred Eugene Hargrove was born April 21, 1951, in Memphis, Tenn., to Lois Elizabeth Carpenter Hargrove and the late Andrew Harold Hargrove. Mr. Hargrove was a lumber inspector for Seitz Lumber Company for 14 years and also a truck driver.
Mr. Hargrove was a member of First Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during the Vietnam War. He was a loving family man. Fred Eugene Hargrove married Deborah Kesler Hargrove on June 26, 1976, in Abbeville, Miss.
Bessie Long Hewlett
Bessie Long Hewlett, age 83, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011, at her residence in Oxford. Miss.
Funeral services are today, Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at 2 p.m. from Clear Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Lipe officiating. Burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery.
Visitation is today, at 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home of Oxford.
Born in West Point, Miss., Mrs. Hewlett was a homemaker and a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church in Oxford, Miss. She was preceded in death by her sons, Jerry Wayne Long and Jimmy Larry Long.
Floyd Chenney, 82, passed away Thursday, June 23, at his home after a brief illness. He was born in Louisville, MS, on May 4, 1929. He graduated from Maben High School in 1947 as president of his class. Moving to Starkville, he was in the wholesale grocery business, retiring in 1998.
Floyd and his wife, Ann, were married in West Point on June 14, 1952, by John Murphree. Floyd was a member of the Church of Christ where he had served as an elder, song director, teacher and chair of the benevolence ministry.
John Cox Sr.
John Cox Sr., age 67. passed away Monday, June 20, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
Funeral services are Saturday, June 25, 2011, at 2 p.m. from Fountain Head M.B. Church, with the Rev. Donald Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation is Friday, June 24, 2011, from 5 â€“ 7 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home in the J.F. Carter Memorial Chapel.

Griffith Robert Jones
Griffith Robert Jones peacefully passed away at home in his sleep Tuesday, June 14, 2011.
Funeral services are Saturday, June 25, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection of Starkville. Interment will follow the service in the Columbarium Niche at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection.
Visitation is Friday, June 24, 2011, between 5-7 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home.

A.K. Tribble, age 89, of West Point, died Friday June 17, 2011, at West Point Community Living Center.
A.K. Tribble was born Sept. 13, 1921, in Cedar Bluff, to the late Leona Williams and A. K. Tribble Sr. He served in the USMC 6th Marine Division and was a veteran of WWII. He was a business man and former owner of West Point Flower Shop. Mr. Tribble was a member of First Presbyterian Church, EPC and a Mason, Masonic Lodge # 40.
Gladys B. Powell Elliott
Gladys B. Powell Elliott, age 88, of West Point, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Miss.
Gladys was born Jan. 24, 1923, in Clay County to the late Mattie Mae Andrews and William Raymond Blankenship. She was a member of First Baptist Church in West Point.
