Johnny Frank Wright, age 85, passed away Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at his home.
Funeral services are Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at 11 a.m. from Church of Hope in Houston, with the Rev. Gregory Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Houston Cemetery of Houston.
Visitation is today, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Carter's Mortuary Services.

Williette Demetra Perry
Willette Demetra Perry, age 53, passed away Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010.
Funeral services are Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at 3 p.m. from Mt. Hermon M.B. Church, with the Rev. Tim Brinkley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation is today, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel.

Byron B. Young
Byron B. Young, age 83, passed away, Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough, Ga. Byron B. Young was born Feb. 26, 1927, in Clay County, to the late Beulah Edwards Young and Robert L. Young. He was an Aircraft Mechanic for Eastern Airlines for 38 years. Mr. Young was a Baptist and an United States Army Veteran of World War II. Byron B. Young married Roma Goode Young on Oct. 17, 1947, in West Point, she passed away on June 8, 2005.

Funeral services are Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at 11 a.m. from New Covenant M.B. Church in Mantee, with the Rev. Henry Lee Brownlee officiating. Burial will follow in Lower Prairie Creek Cemetery in Mantee.

Mary Ella Smith Johnson, age 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, after battling Alzheimer’s.

Mae Olga Cliett Thompson
Mae Olga Cliett Thompson, age 97, passed away, Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
Mrs. Thompson was born Feb. 16, 1913, in Montpelier, to the late Myrtle Merideth Cliett and Ira Pipkin Cliett. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and a member of Palestine United Methodist Church.
Mae Olga Cliett Thompson was married to Lee Howard Thompson, he preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1978.

Marvin D. "Shorty" Brock
Marvin D. "Shorty" Brock, age 88, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at his home in the Montpelier Community. Marvin D. "Shorty" Brock was born June 18, 1922, in the Sparta Community of Chickasaw County to the late Mildred Davis Brock and Millard Brock. He was a farmer and had worked with the Clay County School System. Mr. Brock was a member of Palestine United Methodist Church and a Veteran of the United States Navy during WW II.
