Georgia Mooneyhan Hudson

Georgia Mooneyhan Hudson, age 72, passed away Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at Dugan Memorial Home.
She was born June 16, 1938, in Lowndes County to the late Sarah Bunn and George Mooneyhan. She was a beloved mother and homemaker.
Mrs. Hudson donated her body to the University Medical Center in Jackson for scientific study.
A visitation celebrating her life is today from 5 – 7 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home.

Doyle G. Cliett

Doyle G. Cliett, age 90, passed away, Sunday, August 1, 2010, at the Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory.
Mr. Cliett was born July 5, 1920, in Montpelier to the late Dora Mary Gosa and Jewel Carlton Clliett. He was a parts manager for Farm Equipment Company in Tunica until his retirement. Mr. Cliett attended Palestine United Methodist Church after returning to Montpelier. His first wife, Sally Manning Cliett preceded him in death on January 19, 1966. He married Mary Barger Cliett on March 15, 1980, she passed away on March 16, 2004.

Doyle G. Cliett, age 90, passed away, Sunday, August 1, 2010, at the Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory.

Gerald L. “Jerry” Higginbotham

Gerald L. ‘Jerry’ Higginbotham, age 72, passed away Thursday July 29, 2010, at North Mississippi Medical Center of West Point.
Mr. Higginbotham was born June 17, 1938, in West Point to the late Iola Smith and John Higginbotham. He served in the United States Army and retired from Babcock & Wilcox as a C fitter. He was a minister at the Church of God for several years and was a member of the Pentecostal Gospel Light House Pentecostal Church of God.

Lora Mae "Nannie" Davis

Lora Mae "Nannie" Davis, age 90, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
Lora Mae Davis was born April 12, 1920, in Ingomar, to the late Lena Swords and Clifford C. Raines. Mrs. Davis worked at Knickerbocker Manufacturing for 20 years. She was a member of West End Baptist Church. Her husband Jewell Hayward Davis, preceded her in death on February 15, 1970.

William W. Huffman Sr.

William W. Huffman Sr., age 66, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at the Montfort-Jones Hospital, in Kosciusko. Mr. Huffman was born October 22, 1943, in Chickasaw County to the late Maudie Belle Smitherman and Walter Frazier Huffman. He was a history teacher at New Hope Middle School and a member of Hwy. 69 Church of Christ in Columbus. Mr. Huffman was a retired United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Huffman married Virginia Carol Garrett Huffman on July 17, 1979, in West Point.

Alma J. Kelly, 89, of Starkville, died Friday, July 23, 2010, at Starkville Manor Nursing Home.
Visitation for Alma J. Kelly will be Sunday, July 25, 2010, from 12 noon until the funeral at 2 p.m. at National Funeral Home.
The Rev. Mark Kelly will officiate the service and burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Alma Kelly was born in 1920 to Inez Cowsert and Randolph D. Jackson in Darling. She was a homemaker and formerly lived in Clarksdale for many years where she was employed by Clarksdale Laundry and Colonial Bag.

James D. Denton, Jr., 71, died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at OCH Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be will be held Monday, July 26, 2010 at 10:30 a.m., from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel in West Point with Burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point.
Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 25, from 5 to 7 p.m at Calvert Funeral Home.
