Nanette Dodson Rainey
Nanette Dodson Rainey, age 93, passed away Monday Aug. 23, 2010, at her residence.
Mrs. Rainey was born July 25, 1917, in Dossville, to the late George Dodson and Exa Cook. She was a member of First Methodist Church and helped start Pink Ladies and Sally Kate Winters Memorial Children’s Home.
A memorial service is Thursday Aug. 26, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Robinson Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Shannon officiating.
William Stevens Lofton
William Stevens Lofton, age 92, passed away Tuesday Aug. 24, 2010, at West Point Community Living Center.
He was born Nov. 6, 1917, in Clay County to the late William Neal Lofton and Ruby Anna Stevens. He was a lifelong resident of Beasley Community and a member of Palestine Methodist Church. Mr. Lofton was a carpenter and a farmer and worked at B&W for several years.
Thomas Jefferson Rodgers Jr., age 84, passed away on Monday Aug. 23, 2010, at Darlington Oakes in Verona. He was born in Mansfield, Ark., on Feb. 20, 1926, to Thomas J. Rodgers Sr. and Sudie Mae Neely. Mr. Rodgers was owner of TJ’s Army-Navy Surplus store for many years. He was retired from the United States Naval Reserve having served in WWII.
Funeral services are Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Robinson Chapel with the Rev. R.C. Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point.
Visitation is today, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home.

Theo Doss, age 83, passed away, Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at his home, in West Point. Theo Doss was born Aug. 26, 1926, in Woodland, in Chickasaw County to the late Fannie Lou Whitt and William Joseph Doss. He had worked in layout, then later as a supervisor for the Babcock & Wilcox Company for 38 years. Mr. Doss was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, and was also a member of the West Point Masonic Lodge #40, F & AM. In his younger years Mr. Doss enjoyed bowling in league tournaments, then in retirement he was an avid golfer. Mr.

B.T. “Ben” Brashier Jr., age 88, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, in Roy, Utah.
Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced by Calvert Funeral Home in West Point.
Calvert Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
T.J. Rodgers Jr.
