Marie Stringfellow Henderson
Marie Stringfellow Henderson, age 93, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at the Marshall Medical Center-South, in Boaz, Ala.Â
She was born Jan. 12, 1917, in Clay County to the late Pearl Thomas Stringfellow and Louis Stringfellow. Mrs. Henderson was a homemaker and a member of Cairo Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Marie S. Henderson was married to Francis Cedelle Henderson; he preceded her in death on Mar. 11, 1965.

Richard P. Megee, age 45, passed away, Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at the Canon Hospice House in Gulfport.
Billy Dwayne Lytal
Billy Dwayne Lytal, age 70 passed away Sept. 21, 2010, at Baptist Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were 2 pm Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at the Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Clinton Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Linda Lytal; two daughters: Tara Lytal and Heather Lytal Broadwater (Davis); three grandchildren: Morgan, Broadwater (14), Mitchell Broadwater (12), and Michael Broadwater (5); one sister, Ann Lytal Busby (Billy); two nieces and a nephew.
Milt K. Gordy
Milt K. Gordy, age 71, passed away Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010.
Funeral services are Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at 1 p.m. from Clark Legacy Center in Frankfort, Ky. Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Visitation is 11 a.m. until service time at Clark Legacy Center.

James Melvin Carter, age 75, passed away Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Funeral services are Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at noon from Lake Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. J.P. Orr officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Grove M.B. Church Cemetery.
Visitation is today, from 2 – 5 p.m. at Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel.

Canary Cox-Shelton, age 92, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at her home.
Funeral services are Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at noon from Union Star M.B. Church with the Rev. Billy Clay officiating. Burial will follow in Union Star M.B. Church cemetery.
Visitation is today, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel.

Bettye Jo Wilson, age 56, passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle.
Funeral services are Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at 11 a.m. from East Oktibbeha County School.

Vickie Dale Smith-Randle, age 54, passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Funeral Services are Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at 2 p.m. from Second Baptist M.B. Church in Houston. The Rev. Danny Jones will be officiating. Burial will follow in Houston Cemetery.

Geraldine Gibson, age 79, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at Okibbeha County Hospital in Starkville.
Funeral services are Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at 11 a.m. from Rock Hill United Methodist Church in Starkville. The body will lie in state from 10 a.m. until service time.

Sammie D. Pruett
Sammie D. Pruett, age 90, passed away, Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at the Mobile Infirmary Hospital in Mobile, Ala.
Sammie D. Pruett was born April 27, 1920, in Monroe County, to the late Donie Little andJames Daniel Pruett. He worked 22 years at Cash & Carry Cleaners and retired in 1984, from Babcock and Wilcox Company in West Point as a machine operator. He was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for many years. Mr. Pruett was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, where he served in the South Pacific.
