Carette Katie Cooperwood, age 87, passed away Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at West Point Community Living Center.
Funeral services are Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at 11 a.m. from New Covenant M.B. Church in Mantee, with the Rev. Henry Lee Brownlee officiating. Burial will follow in Lower Prairie Creek Cemetery in Mantee.
Visitation is today, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel.
Carter's Mortuary Services are in charge of arrangements.

Mary Ella Smith Johnson, age 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, after battling Alzheimer’s.

Mae Olga Cliett Thompson
Mae Olga Cliett Thompson, age 97, passed away, Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
Mrs. Thompson was born Feb. 16, 1913, in Montpelier, to the late Myrtle Merideth Cliett and Ira Pipkin Cliett. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and a member of Palestine United Methodist Church.
Mae Olga Cliett Thompson was married to Lee Howard Thompson, he preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1978.

Marvin D. "Shorty" Brock
Marvin D. "Shorty" Brock, age 88, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at his home in the Montpelier Community. Marvin D. "Shorty" Brock was born June 18, 1922, in the Sparta Community of Chickasaw County to the late Mildred Davis Brock and Millard Brock. He was a farmer and had worked with the Clay County School System. Mr. Brock was a member of Palestine United Methodist Church and a Veteran of the United States Navy during WW II.
Marvin Delaine Brock married Mary Catherine Madison Brock on Dec. 22, 1944; in Clay County, she preceded him
Fluid Carr Sr.
Fluid Carr Sr., age 77, passed away Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
Funeral services are Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at noon from U.F.C.W. No. 1991 Bryan Union Hall, with the Rev. Elbert Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery.
Visitation is today, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel.

Lucille Coggins Cliett
Lucille Coggins Cliett, age 77, passed away, Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point.
Lucille Coggins Cliett was born July 6, 1933, in Clay County to the late Mattie Freshour and Charlie Coggins. Mrs. Cliett was a homemaker and had worked as a caregiver at Dugan Memorial Home. She was a member of West Point Church of God. Lucille Coggins Cliett married Spurgeon Andrew Cliett Jr. on May 1, 1952, in West Point, he predeceased her on Dec. 10, 2008 .

Katie Lue Curry, age 80, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle.
Funeral services are Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at 11 a.m. from Mt. Hermon M.B. Church with the Rev. Tim Brinkley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point.
Visitation is today, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel.
