My boyfriendâs birthday was this weekend and when I asked what kind of cake he wanted, he said âI donât care, whatever,â which I understood as âChocolate and peanut butter!â

Cedric and Charlotte Hamilton and Finis Matthews Jr., of West Point, are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Monique K. Matthews, to Shedrick D. Bradshaw, son of Dianna Carr and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bradshaw of West Point.

I was thinking some more about taking pictures of our children especially when they are babies. There is nothing they can do that you donât think is amazing. When they first arrive, you are overcome with delight at every breath this tiny little person takes. You feel you must chronicle their every minute and every movement. So you do. Little knowing that you are not only taking photos that you and your family can go back through and remember, you are building up blackmail for when they start dating. Oh yeah!!
During one of the many semesters I was in college, I fell into a crowd of musicians.
Without any musical talent to speak of, I guess I became an honorary member of all of the garage bands that were being formed out of this group.
They were all members of a nearly defunct musical fraternity that was desperate for membership.

My neighbor (Iâll call her Brenda for the sake of anonymity) is one of the best things that ever happened to me. She moved into my declining neighborhood and everything changed including my ability to grow good ole summer âmaters despite a lack of ample sun and a thumb that will only turn green if I spray paint it.

I thought for a long time about what the first thing I would mix in my new Kitchenaid mixer would be and this past weekend, I finally got to get mixing.
Iâve wanted a mixer for over a year. How anyone goes to a department store and doesnât drool over the arrangement of brightly colored mixers, I will never know. And finally, my time came.
