Sowell named CTC Teacher of the Year

March 19, 2013

Kramer Sowell is not afraid to get his hands dirty. Or to get his students in the Agricultural Science class dirty. That’s just one of the things that made the West Point School District chose him for Teacher of the Year. He is also Teacher of the Year for the Career and Technology Center. His student look forward to his classes where they learn about livestock, goats, quail and chickens have been raised by the students. They learn about growing food plants and decorative plants at the green house at the back of the CTC building.

Tracy Ridings named WPHS North Campus Teacher of the Year

March 19, 2013

Tracy Ridings has the unenviable job of teaching English I and Honors English to ninth grade students. This is why she was named WPHS North Campus Teacher of the Year. She introduces them to the plays of William Shakespeare with “Romeo and Juliet” and will be taking them back in time to the Holocaust by reading “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas” by John Boyne. She has been in education for 17 years, 13 of which have been at West Point High School. Photo by Donna Summerall
