Williams, Duncan Engagement
Joe and Kathy Williams of West Point, Miss., are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kimberly Lashe' Williams to William Todd Duncan, son of Tommy Duncan of West Point, Miss., and Trina Duncan.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Gorden and Betty Williams of Thomastown, Miss., and Ralph and Ann Coggins of West Point, Miss.
She is a 2009 graduate of West Point High School, and is a 2010 graduate of East Mississippi Community College as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Whitten, Manning Engagement
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Phillip Whitten of Pontotoc, Miss., are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Joanna Vashti Whitten to Davis Morgan Manning, son of Mr. and Mrs. Basil Keith Manning of Cedar Bluff, Miss.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lyons, and Mrs. Johnnie Whitten of Tupelo, Miss., and the late Mr. Joe Brooks Whitten.

Lofton Honored with Bridal Shower
Joni Lofton, Bride-Elect of Brad Pridmore, was given a miscellaneous bridal shower March 29, at the home of Betty Sue Davis. The flowers were white tulips. Guests enjoyed cake, punch and an array of other refreshments. Special guest were Debbie Lofton, mother of the bride, grandmother, Virginia Orman and sisters Jessica Lewis and Jennifer Price. Hostesses were Betty Sue Davis, Kimberly Todd, Lily Todd, Carolyn Golson, Mary Beth Golson and Lacy Pumphrey.
A New Arrival
Brittney Jean Travis
Ronald and Christy Travis of West Point, Miss., are proud to announce the arrival of their daughter, Brittney Jean Travis, born Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at 8 a.m. at North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point. She was 7 pounds, 5 ounces and 18 ½ inches long.
Maternal grandparents are Milton R. and Nora Benson of Cedar Bluff, Miss., and the late Verley Jean Benson.
Paternal grandparents are William and Angela Parker of Maiden, N.C.
Paternal great-grandparents are Sam and Evelyn Stewart of Maiden, N.C.
Chandler Turns 96
George Chandler will celebrate his 96th birthday Saturday, April 23, at Johnson Creek M.B. Church Hebron, Walkers Gin Road. Hostesses for the joyous occasion are his nieces, Ella J. Evans and Rosie Lee Roberson.
Ivy Turns 80
Louise Ivy was born April 21, 1931, and celebrates her 80th birthday today. Family and friends gave her a birthday party last Saturday, at the Holiday Inn Banquet Facility in Columbus. Host and hostess' for the joyous ocassion were her children, Margarette, Jesse, Sarah, Lillian and Antoniette.
Mercier, Murphy Engagement
Robert and Tina Mercier of West Point, Miss., are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Jessica Mercier to Justin Murphy, son of Bricy Weaver of Tupelo, Miss., and Patrick Murphy of Kosciusko, Miss.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Marcilene and Jimmy Stevenson of West Point, Miss., and the late Bobbie Jean Redus, and Robert H. Mercier, Sr.
She is a 2006 graduate of Oak Hill Academy and will receive a Bachelor’s degree from Mississippi University for Women in May.

Earl and Lisa Clardy of West Point, Miss.,are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Dosha Nicole Clardy, to Christopher Blake Barksdale, the son of Donald and Vickie Barksdale of New Hope, Miss., and Darla and Eddie Estes of Steens, Miss.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Sarah Shurden and the late Preston Shurden, Nicky Spencer and the late Patti Jo Spencer and Norma Clardy and the late Boyce Clardy, all of West Point, Miss.
Flynn and Thompson Honored with Shower
Michelle Flynn and Patrick Thompson were honored at a Couple's Shower on Sunday afternoon, March 20th, in the home of Claire and Robert Craig. Special guests for the occasion were Doug and Gail Thompson, (pictured on left) parents of the groom, and Carlos and Judy Flynn, (pictured on right), parents of the bride. The couple will be wed May 14, 2011, in the Chapel of Memories, Mississippi State University.
