Third shooting fugitive arrested

32-year-old Jamar Jones, accused of shooting a person in the arm June 26, was taken into custody Tuesday by the West Point Police Department with assistance from the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Suspect Sought In Monday Night Shooting

West Point police were successful in the capture of three local fugitives, who had been on the run from alleged acts of shooting, now police are in search of another individual suspected of shooting a man Monday night.

Two local fugitives captured

Two out of the three men wanted in connection to recent shooting incidents were captured and taken into custody by the West Point Police Department.

Court hears hit-n-run case

No ruling has yet been entered on a West Point woman accused of ramming her vehicle into the back of another occupied vehicle on Highway 45 Alternate then allegedly leaving the scene of the accident.

Circuit Court upholds ruling on DUI offender

A man, who appealed the ruling of the Clay County Justice Court, was found guilty Monday of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Sheriff: Digital radio system a huge benefit

Fuzzy radio communications between law enforcement officials of the Clay County Sheriff’s Department and 911 dispatchers is no longer an issue. That’s all thanks to the installation of a new digital radio system, which transmits emergency messages across the radios 10 times better than the Sheriff’s Department’s old analog radio system.
