Farmers Market returns to West Point May 29

With growing season in full swing, the West Point Farmers Market will return on May 29.
The market will run from 4-7 p.m. at the Mossy Oak Outdoor Outlet in West Point and run each Thursday throughout the summer.
West Point Clay County Growth Alliance Director and Market Coordinator Lisa Klutts said this year's market is still in the early planning stages, but she hopes it will be the biggest one yet.

WP dodges storm, provides aid

Storms ripped through Northeast Mississippi Monday evening, causing major destruction in areas such as Tupelo and Louisville. West Point and Clay County were spared the majority of the storm cell’s onslaught, but city and county agencies have been working to lend a helping hand to affected areas.
Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott said the county was blessed to dodge the majority of the storm’s impact.
