Pilot Club members gearing up for new year

Many upcoming projects were discussed at Wednesday’s meeting of the Pilot Club of West Point. February’s meeting will include the residents of the Henry Clay Retirement Center as the Pilots adopt residents as their sweetheart during the Valentine meeting. Club President, Michele Estes reminded the Pilots to draw a resident’s name for the party before leaving.
“We have a lot coming up in the next two months,” said Estes. “We are having our Pilot International Sweetheart party in February, then the Legends fundraiser will take place March 1.”

Selectmen go forward with sidewalk effort

In the near future, Fifth Street School and Central School students will have the opportunity to walk to and from school on a fresh set of sidewalks. Selectmen authorized West Point Mayor Robbie Robinson to accept Calvert-Spradling Engineers contract, which deems Calvert Spradling the head honcho in overseeing the construction and inspection of the sidewalks.
