Arrest made in Sunday shooting

West Point Police Department officers have arrested a man in connection with an alleged shooting.

Dermarius Brown, 26, of West Point was arrested Sunday after reportedly turning himself in to authorities. Shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday police were dispatched to the 500 block of Washington Street in reference to a shooting. E911 reported to officers that an ambulance had been dispatched.Upon arrival, police discovered a man at a residence who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

City mulls options on water project for Yokohama

Bids for a new water tank have been taken off the Board of Selectmen's agenda for their meeting tonight. West Point Chief Administrative Officer Randy Jones said that the bids were taken off the agenda because the plans have not been finalized.

“There hasn't been a decision made yet,” Jones said. “The plans have not bee certified.”
