Dusty road source of concerns

The dust is so bad you can barely breathe, says several residents living on Deanes Road in Clay County. And aside from trying to keep the dust from settling into their lungs, residents say the dust on Deanes Road clouds up so thickly, motorists can barely see the road in front of them when vehicles pass by, which some say is a serious concern.

Culin-Arts to distribute Wolf t-shirts, posters and tickets

The 2013 Howlin’ Wolf Memorial Blues Festival t-shirts, tickets and posters are on sale. Culin-Arts on Commerce Street is the source for this year’s Wolf memorabilia promoting the 18th annual festival that takes place on August 30. Medium to large shirts are $15 with 2X and 3X going for $20. Posters are $10, and tickets to the festival are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate. School Board hears proposed '13-'14 budget

Monday's West Point School District budget hearing was met with no opposition from members of the general public, and the proposed budget is now waiting approval by the West Point School Board of Trustees.

One injured in Tuesday Night Shooting

Local emergency officials rushed to the scene of a shooting Tuesday night in the area of Jim James Court where one man was shot and transported to the Clay County Medical Center for treatment of his injury.
