CCSD, MHP host Batson's toy drive

The Clay County Sheriff’s Department is working in conjunction with the Mississippi Highway Patrol and other agencies in the state to help to ease the homesickness bed-ridden children at the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children (BHC) may feel.
Beginning the week after Thanksgiving, CCSD DUI Patrol Officer Rick Haggard grabbed the torch and decided to head CCSD’s toy collection. Although it was later than he had initially hoped, the shear quantity of toys garnered thus far has provided a warm sensation in the hearts of CCSD staff.

City works on repairing Main Street

West Point street crews could be working to repair potholes left in the wake of a street overlay project as early as Wednesday.
According to Randy Jones, West Point chief administrative officer, the city elected to go with a relatively thin overlay when repaving Main Street in the spring, which had separated in places due to sharp temperature changes.

Police investigate burglaries: Bizarre pizza theft leaves investigators scratching heads after full year

Investigators are working the ins and outs of burglary cases from this year and the last.
According to West Point Police Department Chief of Investigations Albert Lee, Officers were dispatched at about 10:30 p.m. March 28 to the 400 block of Moore Avenue in regards to a possible burglary of a dwelling.
