'Memories' page promotes downtown

The landscape in West Point has changed dramatically in the last 50 years, but there are those in the community working to make sure the “good ol’ days” are not forgotten with the “Memories of growing up in West Point, MS” Facebook page.
It’s about more than nostalgia, though. Cynthia Wilson, director of the West Point Growth Alliance and page originator, said she hopes to use the page as a tool in promoting the community, particularly in the downtown area, to facilitate economic growth.

Two arrests made in Pit Bull attack

Investigative efforts on behalf of the West Point Police Department in regards to last Thursday’s pit bull attack on a 3-year-old child have resulted in the arrests of two West Point residents.
Reports flooded the airwaves at about 5 p.m. Thursday regarding a possible dog attack. Officers, upon arrival, discovered evidence to suggest the child had been viciously ravaged by a pit bull confined by chains among the exterior of the dwelling in which he was staying.

Yokohama to hold job session
