Local ministry to host annual hunt for youth

Kids from the Sally Kate Winters Home for Children in West Point and Palmer Home for Children in Columbus will put on their warmest gear and hit the woods in a “Passionate Pursuit” this weekend.

The wonderful smells of a Thanksgiving feast wafted through the air on Brame Avenue outside of Third Mt. Olive M.B. Church at noon Wednesday. The Noonday Prayer Warriors have orchestrated a feast for the elderly, shut-in, homeless and disabled for nine years at Thanksgiving and have no intention of stopping.

City awaits word on WSWA merger

The agenda was light, but the getting was good.
The West Point Board of Selectmen convened Tuesday to finalize authorization for Randy Jones, city chief administrative officer, to represent the city in the assumption of all assets and liabilities of White Station Water Association.
“It’s been a long time coming,” said Mayor Robbie Robinson. “ ... It’s finally here.”
And a long time indeed has it been since the concepts were originally drafted for the merger nearly two years ago.
