Escapee Turns Himself In To Police

June 21, 2011

After being on the run from police for four days, 24-year-old Amonty Young turned himself in around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to the Clay County Sheriff's Department, according to chief deputy Eddie Scott.
Young's escape from the Clay County jail's exercise yard on June 17 was his second time in about two years that he had escaped from confinement at the jail. Young was able to escape on Friday by disassembling part of interior gate fencing that was covered with razor wire and climbing over the exterior gate.
