Judgement involving a 2006 dog chasing incident at Penny Pinchers of West Point was given to Penny Pinchers April 26 after the Mississippi Court of Appeals found the dog was not a threat to customers at the store.
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — The Mississippi Supreme Court has scheduled arguments for May 11 in an appeal from Vanessa Decker, who is seeking to overturn her 2008 conviction for exploiting her own mother.
Last September, the state Court of Appeals upheld Decker's four-year suspended sentence and four years' probation. The Supreme Court later agreed to hear the appeal.
Decker was convicted in Clay County of felony exploitation of a vulnerable adult for taking $4,120 from her mother's bank account between November 2005 and April 2007.
