Christmas Concert
The West Point Music Coterie will have their annual Christmas Concert at West End Baptist Church at 7 p.m. The title of the performance is “Let Christmas Begin.”

Mischievous little eyes are peeping inside homes and vehicles this shopping season, looking to snatch up brand new clothes, shoes, gadgets and gizmos while the owners are oblivious to what's going on. But local law enforcement, who will be on the trail of these prowlers this week and throughout the holiday season, has ways people can keep their goods safe and prevent being victimized by burglaries.
November 16th
The past few years have been extremely tough for Clay County with the stagnant national economy and the loss of many manufacturing jobs. These losses have caused us to suffer with inordinately high unemployment for our county. It's tough times like these that motivate community leaders and elected officials to search for answers and solutions that create jobs for our community. It's been my conviction that if our citizens have jobs many of the social ills we experience will be resolved.

One by one, 16 senior football players made the slow walk across McAllister Field at West Point High School Friday night, with each player being accompanied by his family for Senior Night festivities.
After the 16th player was introduced just prior to West Point’s season finale, he kissed his mother, turned, and found the rest of his senior teammates. That’s when the entire group gathered together and sprinted to the center of the field to be with the 17th senior, Tyler Wallace.

Paige Dendy Lamkin, with 73 percent of the vote, is the new Clay County Tax Assessor. All three supervisors up for re-election (District 3 RB Davis, D4 Sheldon Deanes and D5 Floyd McKee) are winning easily.

The personhood amendment has been defeated by voters of Miss, but Voter ID looks like it's on its way to passing.
UPDATED: Phil Bryant (R) is the new governor of Mississippi after defeating Democrat Johnny DuPree.
Tate Reeves has won the race to be the next LT. Governor.
