Can you swim 1.2 miles? Ever tried biking 56-miles and then followed that with a half marathon?
For some it sounds like a grueling challenge. After all, it’s only half of an iron-man competition.
It may sound unbearable, but for one local it’s just one more challenge he wants to conquer.

The Mississippi Heat continued their success on the hardwood over the last three weeks.
The West Point based traveling team which features 16U athletes from several counties, finished second in the last three tournaments they’ve played in; Memphis, West Point and Hamilton.
This year the Heat has a very balanced, strong and deep offensive attack.
While Dantaveous Crawford leads in scoring averaging 14 points, he also ranks in the top three in almost every category.
The West Point Lady Wave softball team followed up their recent success last spring with a good summer on the diamond. Head coach Brian Sellers said the main issue the team focused on over the last few months was making sure the girls got plenty of playing time.
“The biggest thing for us was the experience,” he said. “During the JV games your trying to get everybody in. You might get one at bat or half an inning in because your trying to get 15 players in the game over the last two or three innings. So biggest thing was the repetitions to get better for next year.”
