West Point Police Department investigators are looking for information pertaining to the alleged theft of two guns this week.
n About 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, an individual came into the police department and reported that a gun was stolen from their vehicle. According to the incident report, a black Walther 9 mm semi-automatic pistol was stolen while the vehicle was parked in the Truman Creek area in West Point. The serial number for the gun was FAN60656.

Clay Countyâ€™s two Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) members will be represented in the associationâ€™s all-star football game.
Oak Hill Academyâ€™s Drake Riley and Hebron Christianâ€™s Collin Moore will participate on the MAIS North team as they square off against the MAIS South team in a game set for a 2 p.m. kick-off Friday at Jackson Prep in Flowood.
Lloyd Brister, age 87, died of heart failure at his residence in Winona, Monday, Dec. 1, 2014.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at First Baptist Church in Winona, with Dr. Tim Mims, assisted by Rev. John L. Walker and Rev. T. R. Darsey, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona.
Visitation is today, Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, from 4 - 8 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home in Winona.
Dr. Frank Thaddeus Marascalco, lovingly known as â€śCatfishâ€ť or â€śDr. Frankâ€ť, born in Grenada, MS April 14, 1923, died after a brief illness in Clarksdale, Monday Dec. 1, 2014. He was 91 years old.
Funeral services are Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at St Elizabethâ€™s Catholic Church in Clarksdale. A visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. to noon followed by a funeral mass at noon. Family burial will be at Oakridge Cemetery immediately following the service.
Meredith Nowell Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Sally Kate Winters Family Services in West Point is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide services for children removed from abusive homes. SKWFS takes in children from all over the state who are in need of a safe place.
Farm Bureau Insurance and SuperTalk Mississippi are helping those children in the care of SKWFS to have a brighter holiday by sponsoring a toy and gift drive from 3 â€“ 6 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Farm Bureau office of Adam Watson.

One of the biggest concerns for law enforcement during the Thanksgiving holiday was traffic, as citizens traveled to be with their families or raced to stores for Christmas shopping.
However, the Thanksgiving weekend was a quiet one in Clay County, according to Sheriff Eddie Scott. He said the Clay County Sheriffâ€™s Department coordinated with the Mississippi Highway Patrol to help residents get where they were going as safely as possible.

Lillian Blanchard Wilson, age 86, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014. at Darlington Oaks Community Hospice, in Verona.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at Pleasant Plain M.B. Church in Prairie, with Rev. Michael McGaha officiating.
Burial will follow in Pleasant Plain M.B. Church Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3 - p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014. at Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel.
Carter's Mortuary Services is in charge of arrangements.
Troy Dempsey Criddle Jr., age 60, passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Troy was born March 25, 1954, in West Point, the son of Dola Francis Thompson Criddle and the late Troy Dempsey Criddle Sr. Troy was a self-employed truck driver, owning and operating his own truck. He was a member of West End Baptist Church in West Point. He married Jane Adderholt Jernigan July 3, 2006, and she passed away Jan.18, 2013.

Representatives from the Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH) and Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) were in West Point Monday to answer questions about development in the cityâ€™s historic areas.
West Point Grant Writer Melanie Busby said many citizens looking to develop or relocate businesses in town could receive tax credits for renovations.
