Bryan Public Library set to host financial planning session Friday morning

The Bryan Public Library is hosting a free, adult financial seminar from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Friday, featuring Ryan Munson, financial adviser with Edward Jones in Columbus. Munson will provide basic financial planning information with his “Rules of the Road.”
“Friday, I'll be discussing the ‘10 Rules of the Road' for investing,” Munson said. “The rules will help those interested in financial planning to understand the basic concepts and strategies for preparing for the future.”

CCS celebrates 40 years strong in Mississippi

Community Counseling Services (CCS) has been a part of Clay County’s history for as long as some can remember, but this year marks a special milestone: CCS is celebrating 40 years of service.
The organization commemorated the event with a special luncheon at Old Waverly Country Club Wednesday in West Point, with representatives from each of its seven-county coverage area coming to expand briefly on services provided, financial figures and a glimpse into the future.

City plans $300,000 CDBG funds match

The West Point Board of Selectmen adopted a resolution which would allow the city to commit matching funds for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) at its meeting Tuesday.
The city is applying for a $300,000 CDBG to go toward a $600,000 sewer project, which will service two census blocks north of Main Street in West Point. One block extends roughly from Eshman Avenue to Fifth Street and the other from Cottrell Street to Old White Road.
