Local man reflects on mission work

Not everyone in the world has it so easy. The Civitan Luncheon Club learned more than its share during its regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday, when Mike Pittman, president of “My Brother’s Cup” faith-based coffee company in Tupelo which contributes proceeds for mission trips to China shared some of his experiences overseas.

MSA works to revitalize town murals

Over the course of several months, the recently created Main Street Association (MSA) Mural Committee has had its eye on existing murals in West Point’s downtown area, as well as vacant walls for brand-new murals.
Deborah Mansfield, MSA design committee and mural committee member, along with fellow cohorts and MSA Design Committee Chairman Kathy Dyess, were the faces behind the vivid murals displayed on the side of the Cash & Carry Cleaners building, as well as the Howlin’ Wolf Blues Museum mural.

Lady Wave falls to Yellowjackets

STARKVILLE — The young and inexperienced West Point Lady Green Wave showed coach Brian Guy something to build on late in Tuesday night's 12-2 loss at Starkville.
Trailing 9-0 after four innings, the Lady Green Wave scored a pair of runs in the fifth inning to get to within seven runs.
It may not have seemed much to the average fan, but the way his team fought meant quite a bit to Guy.
