Hebron Lady Eagles leave victorious; Eagles eliminated from postseason

LEARNED — The Hebron Christian Lady Eagles bounced back from a North-Central tournament final loss and claimed a 60-32 win over the Trinity Episcopal Lady Saints Monday night at REBUL Academy.
Holly Hudson led the Lady Eagles with 16 points, Rebekah Falkner added 14 and Victoria Ferguson notched 10 in the win.
Hebron (19-5) used a big second quarter, outscoring Trinity, 20-7, and grabbed a double-digit lead at halftime, 33-20. The Lady Eagles held 22-point advantage at the end of the third quarter, 45-23.

MBN makes Oktibbeha arrest in drug ring

Agents over the three-day weekend arrested a Texas man in Mississippi in connection with the seizure of about $100,000 in cocaine, interim Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics Director Samuel W. Owens said Tuesday.
Charles A. Skelly, 25, of Houston, Texas, faces one count of possession of a kilogram of cocaine with intent to distribute, Director Owens said.

City set on HOME grant app

The window of time open for West Point residents to submit applications to the city in hopes of obtaining assistance to rebuild their homes has come and gone, and now West Point has taken it to the next step in the process. The city was set this week to submit its application to the Mississippi Development Authority — just shy of the Feb. 20 deadline — for the consideration of a HOME grant.
