Anna Elizabeth 'Anna Beth' Davis

Anna Elizabeth “Anna Beth” Davis passed away at her home in Yazoo County, Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Anna Beth was born April 11, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
She battled her illness in four hospitals over two states for the first six months of her life. October 8, 2013, she was released from the St. Louis Children’s Hospital to return home to Yazoo County.

Raiders better slow-paced North Delta

GRENADA – The number “13” has many negative connotations in any spectrum of life – Friday the 13th or the fear of the 13th floor/aisle, which many establishments avoid.
Oak Hill’s Drew Riley may have a different perspective on the number after three contests on the basketball court.
The sophomore guard has scored 13 points in the past three consecutive games, including his 13 for the Raiders in Friday evening’s 42-31 triumph over the North Delta Green Wave in the Kirk Academy Basketball Classic.

GRENADA – Stan Hughey expressed before the start of the 2013-14 season that his team needed to find a third or fourth double-digit scorer for his youthful Lady Raiders.
The Oak Hill Girls’ Head Coach may have just found a trio that can provide him with the needed numbers to be successful in the month of January and the tough stretch of District 2-AA games.

Investigators hunting leads on cold cases

Unsolved cases span from now to years back for West Point Police Department investigators. Investigators continue their hunt for new information regarding cases, which occurred in 2011, ranging from thefts of gaming consoles to a man that perhaps liquidated a burglary being carried out on his property.
At about 1 a.m. March 20, 2011, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Fifth Street in reference to a possible armed robbery.
