The sun set on Dudy Noble Sunday evening as the first innings of play went by quickly. The ballpark which famous Mississippi crime-fiction author John Grisham has referred to as “The Carnegie Hall of Baseball”. Mississippi State University and the University of Central Arkansas faced-off for the fifth time in the 2013 season.

Shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday night, West Point police officers were dispatched to a residence in the Seitz subdivision in reference to a shooting. Clay County E-911 informed police that the caller was requesting an ambulance because one individual on scene advised that he had been shot.

May 30th
On May 28, 2013 the Clay County Sheriff Department assisted by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics arrested 3 individuals on felony drug warrants. Arrested were Brandon Butler, age 27, on 2 felony drug warrants for Sale of Cocaine, Dana Gustavis, age 27, on a felony drug warrant for Sale of Marijuana and Malicious Mischief and Lyndon Fisher, age 49, on a felony drug warrant for Sale of Hydrocodone and Sale of Alprazolam.

Montrell Collins aka Peanut (DOB 06-16-1981), is wanted by Clay County Sheriff Department for felony malicious mischief and 2 counts trespassing. Last known address is 2329 Gillespie Road, Cedar Bluff.

An eight-member jury settled into their seats Thursday for the third day of testimony in a case against the city of West Point alleging race discrimination and wrongful termination.
