We live in a world today that is filled with hatred and deceit. We also live during times when the Christian community is alive, well and quite active in missionary and community service. But there are those who say they are Christians and love all of humanity, but their lack of enthusiasm and charity exhibits everything but love.

Ella Mae Washington age 84, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville.
Funeral services are Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 11 a.m. from First Baptist Pheba Church with the Rev. Ronnie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in First Baptist Pheba Church Cemetery.
Visitation is today, Friday, March 15, 2013, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Carter’s Mortuary Services Chapel.
Carter’s Mortuary Services is in charge of arrangements.

Other than a small outline on a scrap of paper, the West Point native and historian had no written dissertation to read from when he talks history.

Nathaniel Neely age 94, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Community Hospice, Inc. of Verona.
Funeral services are Saturday, March 16, 2013. at noon from Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Van Vleet. Burial will follow in Ross Hill Cemetery.
The body will lie at the church from 11 a.m. until service time for viewing.
Carter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
