Suspect charged in hostage situation

A Clay County man has been taken into custody and charged with one count aggravated assault on a police officer and one count kidnapping following an alleged hostage situation and shooting on Saturday.

Brownfield meeting set Wednesday

Deputy clerk retires after 17 years service

The Board of Supervisors room at the Clay County Courthouse was filled to overflowing with well-wishers who had come to say goodbye to Susan Plunkett after 17 years as deputy clerk for the Clay County Circuit Court office. Court employees, county supervisors, friends and family brought food and gifts for a surprise party in Plunkett’s honor.
