Third shooting fugitive arrested

32-year-old Jamar Jones, accused of shooting a person in the arm June 26, was taken into custody Tuesday by the West Point Police Department with assistance from the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Suspect Sought In Monday Night Shooting

West Point police were successful in the capture of three local fugitives, who had been on the run from alleged acts of shooting, now police are in search of another individual suspected of shooting a man Monday night.

Two local fugitives captured

No ruling has yet been entered on a West Point woman accused of ramming her vehicle into the back of another occupied vehicle on Highway 45 Alternate then allegedly leaving the scene of the accident.

Circuit Court upholds ruling on DUI offender

A man, who appealed the ruling of the Clay County Justice Court, was found guilty Monday of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Alice A. Collins

July 4, 2013

Alice A. Collins, age 92 died on July 3, 2013 at her home residence in West Point, Miss.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. from the Union Star M.B. Church with Rev. Henry Shelton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Union Star Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013 one hour prior to the services. Carter’s Mortuary Services is in charge of the arrangements.
