Midsummer mental health tune-up

In case you have been wondering why everything in my garden is dead, let me assure you it’s for a good reason. I spent last week on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with my high school classmates who were celebrating our “senior trip.” My bone-dry underdeveloped tomatoes being eaten by stink bugs were the furthest thing from my mind.

Lady Eagles welcome back coach and look toward improved 2013 season

Cass Tapley has been involved with the sport of softball for a while now.
Tapley coached his daughter Chloe for her whole career as a softball player at Hebron where she dominated in the circle as a pitcher fanning over one thousands batters and did an equally as dominant job in the batter’s box. Yet when Chloe chose to forgo her senior season last year due to illness, Cass followed suit giving the control of Hebron softball to first-time head coach David Hudson.

West Point Hampton celebrates anniversary

What’s that one thing that makes customers come back again and again to a place of business? Perhaps it’s the great product the company offers or unmatched prices bargain hunters love. For the Hampton Inn and Suites of West Point, General Manager Tracey Styron says that one thing is the kindness and caring spirit of the hotel’s dedicated employees.

Sewer services headed to McCharen Field

Man escapes Clay County Jail

July 24, 2013

A jail escape occurred Wednesday morning at the Clay County Detention Center.
The escaper is Marquis Boyd, age 20, who was being held for three counts armed robbery.
Boyd is 5-7 in height and approximately 115 lbs.
Sheriff Eddie Scott stated anyone with any information on the whereabouts of this subject is encouraged to contact the Clay County Sheriff Department at 662-494-2896 or the Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151
