Henry Lee Brooks

May 9, 2013

Henry Lee Brooks age 59, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center of West Point.
Funeral services are Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. from Third Mt. Olive M.B. Church with the Rev. Al Lathan Sr., officiating. Burial will follow in Strong Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is today, Friday, May 10, 2013, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Carter’s Mortuary Services Chapel.
Carter’s Mortuary Services is in charge of arrangements.

Twice as nice: Williamson, Kelly repeat doubles title

This journey to a back to back state championship began at the Ridgeland Tennis Center and late Wednesday afternoon the long road to a repeat ended in Ridgeland as Oak Hill Academy’s Kim Kelly and John Wesley Williamson defeated their Lamar School opponents, Olivia Mabry and Joseph Marcello, in three sets 6-1, 6-7, 6-4.

Fuller will be missed

I would like to take a moment to thank Mrs. Wendy Fuller, our former Clay County Election Commissioner for all of the hard work and years she has put in with the county.
On Thursday morning, the Clay County Board of Supervisors voted to dismiss Fuller as an Election Commissioner. The vote was 3-2.
The board had a tough job to do, and they did it the best way that it could have been handled.
The circumstances surrounding Fuller’s dismissal should not blemish her overall record of service to the citizens of Clay County.

Oak Hill takes second place, as Williamson, Kelly and Ready win titles
