Oak Hill tennis drops first match to Heritage

The Oak Hill tennis team was back on the court Tuesday afternoon in West Point. In a heated team match against rival Heritage Academy, the Lady Raiders and Raiders stepped out of district play for a cross-classification tilt.

Millard Long Sr. breathed life into thousands of clocks.
It was surreal, but not surprising when his sons Lynn and Millard Jr. opened the door to his shop last week to the ticks of the timepieces their father was working on just one day before he passed.

The Bink owner Suggs to display art with others

The Bink will be displaying art from its owner Carrie Suggs on April 13, along with artists Christi Duboise, Claire Houston and Leslie Turner. Being a young adult living on my own, I have to always be mindful of what I am spending money on. This can be difficult some of the time, when cooking is my favorite hobby. So today, I decided to write about which grocery items I will absolutely spend extra money on, whether I can actually afford it or not.

Charles William Eacholes

April 9, 2013

Charles William Eacholes age 87, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013, at his home.
Funeral services are Thursday, April 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. from Lower Prairie Creek M.B. Church with the Rev. Eugene Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Watkins Cemetery.
Visitation is today, Wednesday, April 10, 2013, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Carter’s Mortuary Services Chapel.
Carter’s Mortuary Services is in charge of arrangements.

Diamond Dogs have setbacks, but take series over Gators

For the 17th ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs (26-9 overall, 5-7 in SEC play), this weekend had many bright moments from which to build great momentum as the season progresses.
First, the Dawgs took their first series in the last five weekends, winning the weekend series 2-1 over the Florida Gators (15-18 overall, 5-7 in SEC), after having lost the last four series 2-1 to Central Arkansas, and nationally ranked SEC powers LSU, Kentucky, and Arkansas.
