Margaret Russell Templeton

Margaret Russell Templeton, age 86, died March 30, 2013, at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital in Kosciusko. Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Welch’s Funeral Home in Starkville, beginning at noon with funeral services at 1pm.
Mrs. Templeton was born on August 1, 1926, in West Point, Miss. She was a graduate of West Point High School. On June 1, 1946, she married Charles Edward (Buddy) Templeton. They made their home in Starkville, where they raised their three boys. Mrs. Templeton worked for Dr. Emmett Black as a dental hygienist and secretary for many years.

Post 38 raises funds for Rebecca’s Rooms

Rebecca’s Rooms, a charity dedicated to remodeling the rooms of disabled children, received a nice contribution from the American Legion Riders, Post 38 on Saturday.

Victim of attack sues McDonald’s

The mother of a female juvenile, both of whom reside in West Point, has taken legal action against the McDonald’s restaurant in West Point, claiming negligence and failure to control employees.

Sinkhole issue being resolved

A large sinkhole located on Northwood Forest Road was discovered late last week and is now being repaired before any injuries occur due to its extent and depth.

On March 12, six candidates were on the ballot in an attempt to fill the empty District 36 House seat that was left vacant after the passing of longtime Rep. David Gibbs in January.
