Ticket buyers lined the stairway inside the Ritz Theater on Thursday night, as the standing room only crowd that paid to see the premier of Michael Williams’ “Kane” watched the film, not a one disappointed.
Former longtime West Point residents James Lewis and Bennie Faye Keller, celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in their home in Collinsville, March 7, with family and friends. Captain Keller retired from the Mississippi Army National Guard in West Point, after more than 22 years of service and can also be remembered from Keller Construction Company, which he ran for many years in the local area. Most West Point residents should still remember Bennie Faye Keller for her more than 47 years of work at the Bryan Public Library where she retired as the longest working employee to date.

Thursday, Oak Hill Academy hit the road for their second away game of the season and the final game of the two-game series between Leake Academy in Madden.
Eyes grew big in the early part of last week when an area broadcast news agency released a report alleging that a West Point police officer attempted suicide on East Main Street in West Point, but West Point Police Chief Tim Brinkley said almost the entire television report is false.

Two people were transported Thursday afternoon to the local hospital after sustaining injuries due to a head-on collision, which occurred in the area of Fifth Street Junior High School.
