Merchant discusses playoffs, importance of defense

The Oak Hill Raiders are again heading for the MAIS Class-AA postseason as one of four wild cards.
Coming over from an assistant coach post at Immanuel Christian School in Steens, Daniel Merchant could not have imagined the success that he found at Oak Hill with two consecutive berths into the playoffs – an accomplishment he thought he would have achieved later in his tenure.

WPPD revisits Bryan Library burglary case

The West Point Police Department is in the midst of investigating old cases that have accumulated dust over recent months.
At about 8:30 a.m. May 1, WPPD responded to a call regarding a possible burglary at the Bryan Public Library.

Sheriff's Department launches, improves website

In tune with the times, the Clay County Sheriff’s Department is delving deeper and deeper into the cyber realm with its new website which aims to further improve its communication with the county.
Designed by Arkansas based Brooks Jeffrey Integrated Marketing, the website made its debut in August and serves to deliver up-to-date information to users at any point in time whether it be in regards to convicted sex offenders in the area or who has recently made their way onto the county’s most wanted list.
