West Point and Oak Hill on the Road

September 6, 2012

This week is critical for both the West Point High Green Wave and the Oak Hill Academy Raiders as both teams go on the road tonight. Each school is looking to build, to add wins to the books, and as shown so far, West Point and Oak Hill can get it done.

With a short trip down Highway 82, West Point will be looking to move forward on the momentum they gained against Columbus last week, and Starkville High School will be waiting for them, coming off of a win against Tupelo High.

Haughton Arrested For Aggravated Assault

September 6, 2012

A local man wanted by police for his involvement in an August altercation in Town Creek Apartments has been taken into custody and is being held at the Clay County Detention Center.
33-year-old Lantra Haughton of West Point was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with aggravated assault, which occurred around Aug. 3, 2012 in Town Creek. Haughton's case is just one of three reported criminal incidents that took place in Town Creek around the same time, but Haughton was only wanted in connection to one of the incidents.
